Sales of Smartphones fall but not for all manufacturers

Samsung is the world’s largest producer of volume by selling 70.4 million smartphones in the last three months of 2018. Compared with last year, it sold 5.5% less.

The smartphone market is going through tough moments. According to a report released today, IDC analyst firm said 375.4 million devices were sold during the fourth quarter of 2018, down 4.9% compared to last year.

This is the fifth consecutive quarter that marks a decline and 2018 is the worst year of smarto sales.

During 2018 they fell by 4.1% to 1.4 billion units.

China suffered the largest decline. The country, which accounts for 30% of smartphone consumption, reported a decline in sales volumes by 10%.

Apple coming in second place sold 68.4 million phones with a collapsing decline of 11.5%.

Huawei’s third-place deal with 60.5 million smartphones sold but with a surprise compared to last year.

The company has risen by 43.9%, a separate record for the company. The first is closed by Oppo and Xiaomi who sold 29.2 and 28.6 million smartphones respectively.

The first five companies together consolidated their positions. They account for 69% of the phones sold.
